Delbarton’s Second-Half Surge Secures Morris County Championship
Aiden Jerath scores twice as the Green Wave defeats Randolph, 3-0.
SUCCASUNNA, NJ — Delbarton reclaimed the Morris County boys soccer championship on Saturday, scoring three second-half goals to defeat Randolph 3–0 at Roxbury High School.
The victory secured the Green Wave’s 16th county title and fourth championship in the past five seasons.
After a scoreless first half, Aiden Jerath broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute. He scored again exactly two minutes later, giving Delbarton a commanding advantage in a final that had been tightly contested.
Cortland Martin added a penalty in the 69th minute to complete the scoring.
Saturday’s championship was the third meeting of the season between the rivals. Randolph took the opener 1–0 before Delbarton won the second matchup 3–2. With the county trophy on the line, the Green Wave claimed the deciding meeting with a shutout.
The result marked Delbarton’s eighth consecutive clean sheet and 15th of the season while extending its unbeaten streak to 17 matches. Dylan Mazzarella and Max Horwitz shared tournament MVP honors.
After falling to Chatham in last year’s semifinals, Delbarton finished this county tournament back where it wanted to be: lifting the championship trophy.
